The brain behind the car that swims

How would you react if I told you about a car that is capable of swimming inside water? Surprised? Well, I am too.

The fact that it is not even a car from the future makes things even more interesting as this automobile was manufactured last year, 2021. Swiss mobility innovator Frank M. Rinderknecht is the brain behind this amazing vehicle. He is famous for being the man who has taken it upon himself to manufacture a crazy car every year because he has the talent to make it happen.

According to him, he got inspired by the 1977 James Bond movie titled “The Spy Who Loved Me,” where the actor escaped his enemy underwater, but translating that fiction into reality was not an easy ride. He eventually got to work and manufactured an automobile that used three electric motors: one for land travel and two for water. Driving on land is possible via its electric rear-wheel-drive powertrain. At the same time, upon entering water, it simply flows on the surface until the operator floods the interior to submerge it.

Frank added that while he and his team have thought about manufacturing a flying car, the car technologies of today are just not ready for it.

Watch the video below to learn more about Frank M. Rinderknecht and his swimming car.

Watch the video and let us know if you will be willing to buy this car if you can afford it. Do you think it is a necessity or a luxury?
