MTN Ghana urges customers to use Web portal for SIM Registration

MTN Ghana has urged all customers yet to register their SIM cards with their Ghana card to use their web portal to quicken the process for their SIM registration.

Ahead of the deadline for SIM Registration on 31st July 2022, the numbers at offices of various Telcos are on the rise. MTN seeks to reduce this burden on customers by providing a solution to start the registration process themselves before visiting any accredited centre to complete their biometric registration.

With the SIM registration deadline near, the queues at various registration centers are on the rise again.

The SIM registration portal link, which can also be found on their website, is  https://simregistrationportal.mtn.com.gh and can be accessed on both mobile and PCs.

The web portal will allow customers to link their Ghana cards to their SIM cards and as well be able to generate a unique code that will be used at the accredited centers to continue the biometric registration.

The Chief Sales and Distribution Officer, Shaibu Haruna speaking about the new web portal said: “As we draw close to the 31st July deadline for the SIM Registration exercise, we are employing all channels to ensure every customer on our network is fully registered. This is why we are encouraging our customers to use the MTN SIM Registration Web Portal to expedite the process”.

The web portal is also a channel for customers with Know Your Customer (KYC) issues such as name mismatch to be able to upload images of their proof of ownership documents to establish their identity and ownership of SIM card(s). Individual and Corporate post-paid lines can also use the portal to link their SIM Card(s) to the Ghana Card.
