For those who are still not aware, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has inaugurated its TaxiApp for booking trips, and the initiative will start with the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja, Nigeria. Facts You Should Know About The TaxiApp By FAAN:

1. The FAAN application can be accessed on the Google Play Store.
2. The application is only available for journeys that have either the pickup or drop-off location at the airport.
3. For those who don’t want to have the application on their smartphones, bookings for rides can happen at the arrival lounge in the domestic arrival terminal, while users who want to schedule rides in advance can also do that on the app.
4. Users have to enter their relevant details in order to secure their account on FAANTaxi. As soon as an account has been created for the user, access to the features and services provided by FAANTaxi will be granted.
5. Users will be able to choose between standard or executive cars, and estimated price and details of a driver will be available as well.
6. Driver information, including name, phone numbers, number plates of vehicle model will be provided.
7. FAANTaxi is home to a tracking system which gets updated regularly to include trip progress and if it was completed or not.
8. Every taxi operator at the airport will be registered on FAANTaxi and passengers will reach out to the drivers via the app, thereby eliminating touting.

Other Information You Should Know About The TaxiApp By FAAN:

The Managing Director FAAN, Capt. Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu recently revealed during the launch that beyond getting rid of touting, the application will also help improve the revenue position of the agency as leakages will be eradicated completely.

The FAAN Director of Commercial and Business Development, Mr Sadiku Abdulkadir Rafindadi added that the application will aid smooth facilitation, comfort, safety and security for Nigerian passengers who put their trust in it.

His words, “You can be at the airport or anywhere else and call FAAN Taxi App drivers, to take you from the airport and even also move you around town.”

“Most of them have embraced it but some are still trying to understand the app before they key in. But it is an App for taxi operators at the airport. It is their product; it is for their security, safety and comfort. It is also for improved revenues from the taxi operators and for FAAN as well because the automation will block all revenue leakages.”
