The second edition of Huawei Ghana’s National Ambassadors Awards ceremony has been held to appreciate and recognize the work that the technology giant’s ambassadors put in — contributing to the growth the company experienced in the past year.
The virtual event, which came off on Wednesday, 21st July, 2021, saw instructors and students getting appreciated in various award categories for their efforts in helping Huawei Ghana live up to its promise to H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo provide ICT training for 10,000+ Ghanaians by 2024.
Sharing his experience, Dr Boakye Agyemang — HOD of the Computer Science Department of the Koforidua Technical University — commended Huawei for its support that has maximized the capacity of the schools IT department since 2019. To this effect, the University has been able to train 600 students while certifying 101 certified so far this year.

He intimated the University’s plans to introduce AI studies — with its target being to certify 500 by the next training and examination cycle. He further hinted that plans were far advanced to integrate Huawei ICT Academy courses into its main University course.
Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, Director of CVET in his submission noted that due to how comprehensive the courses are, efforts are being put in place by the commission — in order to collaborate with Huwaei — so as to make all Universities across the country inculcate Huawei ICT Academy courses in their regular syllabus.

Overall Best Instructor
Mr Julius Ludu of the University of Ghana was presented with the Overall Best Instructor Award certifying over 150 students and being the first instructor to introduce a security course.
Best Instructors
Mr. Daniel Ngala of GCTU, Mr. Mensah Sitti of UMAT, Mr. Elvis Yeboah of KNUST, and Mr. Attah Opoku of Regent University College.
Overall Student Ambassadors
Kwesi Manful of KTU, Abigail Abakah-Mensah of UMAT, and Robert Akromod of GCTU were adjudged the overall for outstanding performances.
Target Delivery Award
This was awarded to student ambassadors in the various participating universities who excelled in target delivery by going out of their way to get their fellow students registered, trained, and certified in the courses.
Koforidua Technical University.
This was awarded to Kwesi Manful, Gabby Nyi, and McLutterodt Tawiah.
University of Ghana
Joshua Eyram Wordey, Randel Dzakatey, and Redeemer Ntumy.
Regent University College
Enoch Lamptey, and Jeffrey Armah.
Ghana Communication Technology University
Robert Akromod, and Sandies Oduro.
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
Osei Bonsu Junior, Pamela Appiah, and Isaac Ageebeah.
University of Mines and Technology
Abigail Abakah Mensah, Theodosia Ayi-Annum, Emmanuela Dadzie, and Princess Elorm are the awardees.
University of Energy and Natural Resources
Anaafi Raphael, Suzanna Anafo, and Roger Wienner were the awardees. Their achievement was noteworthy as they were able to certify 43 students even though their school started late.
All Nations University of Science and Technology
The awardees are: Owusu Gustav, Richard Gamah, Lily Dzamesi, and Lattiff Idrisu.
National top scorers
This was awarded to students who scored the highest marks in the course.
Esi Cobblah of KNUST, Edem Amevor of UG, Benjamin Abbey of GCTU, and Samuel Doe of All Nations University came out tops in this category.
Sharing his experience with the program during his speech, Mr. William Aganjiba of the University of Mines and Technology intimated how wonderful it as been so far. He spoke of the journey, through the training of the instructors first, who in turn later transferred that knowledge to their students.
He congratulated the award winners, and thanked Huawei for its commitment toward the initiative and encouraged students to take part in Huawei ICT academy training courses to be abreast with technology in its latest form.
