Humserve Foundation performs free surgeries

Upholding her commitment to offering humanitarian services that will bring relief to persons with health and other life challenges, Humserve Foundation is set to officially launch several health initiatives on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Ga West Municipal Assembly hall, Amasaman.

Eight men out of the thirty who applied for hernia surgery were successfully operated on; others have been scheduled to undergo surgery this August.

One madam Joyce Arhin, an older woman in her late fifties from the Western Region, has already benefited from the programme. Her case was an extreme fibroid condition that needed an emergency operation to be performed to save her life.

Other health care initiatives to be launched are the Medical Aid for Schools Scheme, a preventive health care service offered in partnership with schools. The scheme’s main aim is to promote healthy living by conducting periodic health checks for the early detection and elimination of health threats.

The Medical Aid Scheme will also assist schools with basic health care amenities such as sickbay, first aid kits, and drugs, including basic skills training for teachers in first aid administration. Children, teachers, parents, and school management board members are all beneficiaries of the Medical Aid for Schools Scheme.

The Medicaid Initiative is also scheduled for launch; the initiative offers relief to persons who have incurred medical bills as a result of treatment of a health condition and cannot afford to pay off the bills upon discharge from the hospital completely; Medicaid is established to offer assistance to both children and adults with medical debt issues.

The managing Director of the foundation, Dr. Prince Kwame Darko, has indicated plans for the foundation to upscale her humanitarian services and programmes in the coming months to cover real societal challenges and offer best-fit solutions to ease these challenges for free.

He further stated that plans are underway to initiate programmes that will provide relief for victims of unnatural and natural disasters, stating that steps are being taken to work with government and private institutions to ensure the successful implementation of programmes and health care initiatives that will benefit Ghanaians.

The Surgical Aid Programme is currently focusing on two main surgical issues, hernia and fibroid cases; the foundation is considering several foreign partnerships to help her expand her surgical operations.  So far, the foundation has received tremendous support from the Amasaman Municipal Health Directorate.

In his final statement, the managing director of Humserve Foundation, Dr. Prince Kwame Darko, stated that all health care initiatives under the foundation are for the benefit of all Ghanaians; he said that he had finalized plans for a constituency-based partnership across Ghana in line with promoting United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 3 promoting good health and well being and goal 17 partnership for goals.
