How Tech leader, Opeoluwa Okosun is impacting Nigerian communities

Exposing the young kids to computer education right from Nursery class goes a long way in increasing their interest in anything related to technology in Nigeria. This is the mindset that Opeoluwa Okosun, a popular Nigerian tech enthusiast, has adopted for a while now, and it inspired her enough to take her tech talk campaign to Victory Home School, Ikeja.

Ope, a chartered arbitrator, certified ISO auditor and COBIT professional with more than 20 years work experience, has come out to say that the earlier we realize that giving our pupils proper ICT education early in life is the way forward for a brighter future, the better for Nigeria as a nation.

Via her “Project Start Young in Tech,” which began in 2020, Okosun is looking to create awareness, educate, mentor, and empower the youths early with the basic skills in technology.

According to her, she is of the school of thought that helping these kids to pursue careers in technology will surely go a long way in positively impacting their lives and giving them opportunities for tech entrepreneurship in the future.

Her words, “We are donating the books at no cost to young people especially students from underprivileged backgrounds, as part of my initiative to ignite their interest towards taking STEM subjects and subsequently pursuing careers in technology.”
