WWDC 2022- What to expect from Apple’s iOS 16

The latest iteration of the iPhone’s operating system puts a focus on personalization. There’s a new lock screen with customizable fonts and colors, as well as Apple Watch-style widgets and rotating images.

Notifications will roll in from the bottom of the screen to avoid covering your screen, and Live Activities like music playback can enlarge to occupy the lock screen.

With Messages, editing, undoing sends, and marking unread messages will be possible. SharePlay has been enhanced to make sharing within FaceTime and Messages even easier.

Dictation automatically mixes with text and touch, allowing you to use any input type at any time. Similarly, Apple’s version of Google Lens, Live Text, expands to video, allowing you to pause on any frame and interact with or extract text from the film.

Apple announced that it will be able to intelligently pull images from a background and paste them into apps such as Messages.

More partners for wireless keys, such as automobile manufacturers, have been added to Wallet, as well as tap-to-pay on iPhone for contactless payments and Apple Pay Later, which splits the cost of purchase into four installments.
