HTC, the Taiwanese technology company, has used a tweet on their official Twitter handle to confirm a Viverse event on June 28 to launch a new smartphone.

Not much has been shared on what to expect from this speculated metaverse-focused smartphone.
HTC launched Viverse, a metaverse platform to allow users to socialize, hold meetings, and do more in virtual reality (VR).
It is not a big surprise the company wants to unveil a high-end smartphone with metaverse-focused features since it owns a metaverse platform.
The new HTC Viverse phone is expected to have high-end specifications with 5G support. As per an Engagadget report, it may offer an AR/VR experience via HTC’s open-source Viverse and offer integration with HTC’s Vive Flow VR headset.
We haven’t seen much of HTC since it sold its talents and IPs to Google some time back. It would be interesting to know how HTC plans to return to the premium smartphone market since its previous phones from 2021 still don’t have the old HTC Magic. This launch also presents an opportunity for HTC to market Viverse and potentially maximize their chances as we head into the Metaverse with its coming devices.
