5 things that are killing your phone battery

We often hear or experience our smartphones’ power drain within an hour or even less, sometimes without doing so much.

Some are quick to blame the phone brand or even viruses for the cause of their phone battery drainage, but is that the case?

In this article, let’s look at some applications or actions that are significant reasons why we experience phone battery drainage within a short time.

1. Games

Everyone wants some time off to unwind and relax. Aside from younger generations playing games for interaction, unwinding and relaxing are the top reasons for playing games across generations.

Candy crush is one of the most exciting and popular games on phones across the world.

You might also be waiting in a queue for a service or seeing a doctor, and boredom sets in, so pass away time, you jump on your phone and decide to play a game. This drains your battery quickly, mainly due to their high graphic quality as well as sound if you have it turned on.

2. Screen Brightness

A lot of smartphone activities require the entire screen of the phone, e.g. watching videos, playing games, and working on a file. All of these require screen brightness which in turn drains the phone battery.

Adjusting your phone brightness may be required when using certain apps, which can drain your battery.

3. Bluetooth

The Bluetooth mechanism has been a great addition to the Tech World, and apart from sending and receiving files, it has helped users connect their headphones, watches, cars, home security systems and a lot more. One thing you should know for sure is that when you are not using your Bluetooth, you should turn it off because it will drain your battery.

4. Snapchat

We can guess correctly if someone is on Snapchat because they change their smile and body posture while looking at their phone screens. Well, it’s sad to say this, but Snapchat is a giant phone battery killer, using your phone camera and location services concurrently.

5. Netflix

The Netflix streaming application has arguably become the number one go-to application for movies and tv shows for everyone in the world. As entertaining and sound as it is for you in the movie world, your phone battery will be frowning and draining anytime you open Netflix as the application uses your phone screen and Wi-Fi service or data.

Netflix is your phone battery’s enemy.

We can only perform certain duties on our smartphones when there is sufficient battery power, not to talk of how painful it is when we run out of battery power right in the middle of a chat or conference call. Ensure to have a power bank with you in case you indulge in any of the above, else we will advise you to limit what you do until you reach a destination where the power to charge your phone is available.
