According to reports, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that would allow you to leave unwanted groups without making a fuss.
This new feature promises to let you leave any group without creating a scene. It is however important to know that the issue is not exclusive to WhatsApp; it also affects other instant messaging programs. But this problem may no longer persist on the WhatsApp platform in the near future.
According to various sources, the functionality is currently in development and will be included in a future app version. Only group admins will be notified when a user leaves a group with the new feature. No other users will be notified.

The feature is currently only available in the WhatsApp Desktop beta, but it is highly likely that it will also be available in the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS in the future. When a stable update is released, which could be in a couple of months, this feature should be available on all WhatsApp devices.
