Xiaomi started to build MIUI 13 Stable for 7 popular Xiaomi and Redmi flagships. Xiaomi evaluated the MIUI 12.5 beta internally and did not include any new features.
They started stable MIUI 13 Stable tests on some devices that have upgraded to Android 12 after they unintentionally shared some MIUI 13 apps with testers (like Gallery).
Xiaomi has finally finished development on MIUI 13 over a year after the introduction of MIUI 12.5. MIUI 13 stable tests for the 7-flagship smartphone began a few days ago.
On top of that, Xiaomi has released at least two new versions. Unlike prior years, when Xiaomi released a beta before a stable version, this year they will release the stable version first, followed by the beta version.
MIUI 13 Versions & Rollout Stages
MIUI 13 will be available for Android devices running version 11 and up. MIUI 13 will be available on all smartphones that receive the Android 12 update. The 118 Xiaomi gadgets meet these requirements.
Seven of them are undergoing tests, which began less than two weeks ago and are still ongoing. MIUI 13 will be available to Android 12 devices before Android 11 devices.
On Android 12 devices, the rollout plan is rather different since not all phones will yet be able to upgrade. The process is as below starting from Flagship devices and slowly moving on until devices on Android 11 also have it.
MIUI 13 Eligibility
As we discovered in MIUI 12, MIUI 12.5 and prior updates, all functions were unavailable on Android versions lower than the target Android version. The target Android version for MIUI 12 is Android 10, for MIUI 12.5 it is Android 11, and for MIUI 13 it is Android 12.
MIUI 13 Availability
MIUI 13 beta may start on November 27 with the end of the beta process of all devices that will not receive Android 12. MIUI 13 is expected to be introduced with Xiaomi’s event on December 16.
