MTN Ghana appoints first-ever female Chief Finance Officer

The Board of Scancom PLC, operators of MTN Ghana, has appointed Mrs Antoinette Kwofie as its first-ever female Chief Finance Officer (CFO).

Mrs Kwofie is also the first-ever Ghanaian to hold the position. According to the Board, her work began on October 1.

Mrs Antoinette Kwofie is a graduate of the University of Ghana, where she studied Agricultural Economics. She is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK.

She assumes her role with a rich vein of experience having served for over eight years as the Chief Finance Officer of Barclays (now Absa Bank) from 2013. Before that, she served as Finance Business Partner, Head of Business Performance and Analytics and Financial Controller upon joining the bank in 2007.

Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana,  Selorm Adadevoh, on his part, highlighted the excitement among the staff of the company with the news of her arrival to MTN Ghana.

“I welcome Antoinette to the Y’ello family. She is the first female and the first Ghanaian to head the Finance Division of MTN Ghana. We look forward to working with her as we focus on building a platform business as part of our Ambition 2025 strategy to accelerate growth and unlock value in the coming years,” he said.
