The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has unveiled a new mobile banking app designed to deliver first-rate services to customers.
The App, which is meant to give customers more control of their bank accounts, can be used by individuals, corporate institutions and small and medium enterprises to carry out various transactions.
Speaking at a virtual media parley with media practitioners globally, the UBA Head of SME Banking, Sampson Anekeke, said that UBA is reimagining banking with the new app and it’s not intended to compete with other banks. He said the app not only uses artificial intelligence to serve customers better but also speaks to the specific country where it is being used.
The new UBA mobile banking app runs concurrently in the 20 countries of UBA’s operation, interacting in the different languages and cultures in line with the country’s specific needs and regulations in focus.
The app has a sleek and trendy user interface, and it is to target UBA account holders and prospective customers.
As part of its myriad of features that allow customers to control their cards and accounts, the app also has a voice recognition feature that allows virtually impaired customers to conduct transactions conveniently.
In the virtual media parley, questions on various security concerns associated with most mobile banking apps were addressed. UBA’s Group Chief Information Officer, Onyebuchi Akosa, said the app has been built with the best-in-purchase security features that have been appropriately modelled to ensure that the features work properly and transactions are secured.
The app, however, is not meant to replace UBA’s chatting app Leo, as Leo can be accessed on the newly launched app.
The app is to be seen as a personal finance manager meant to change the face of banking and can be downloaded from the Play Store or App Store.
