Cyberpunk 2077, the highly anticipated game from CD Projekt Red that spent practically forever in development, was released in December 2020 and was immediately awash with controversy.
The hopes that had been foisted upon Cyberpunk 2077 seemed to have been too much for it to handle as its launch brought poor optimization, missing features, and glitches so numerous and hilarious the game almost instantly became a meme on the internet and a disaster for CD Projekt Red.
Despite the beautiful visuals, engaging storyline, combat mechanics, and progression systems, the errors in Cyberpunk 2077 seemed to have outweighed the good, especially when news of its horrid performance on last-gen consoles broke.
The bad press surrounding the controversial game peaked when it was pulled off many online retailers that still held games considered to be buggy messes.
And now, Cyberpunk 2077 is hitting the discount market.

While this might be good news for gamers who are still interested in Cyberpunk 2077, this isn’t good news for CD Projekt Red.
A discount this steep for a game that hasn’t been out for more than 2 months is practically a death knell.
Stock price drops and lawsuits have already besieged CD Projekt Red, this news might create more panic in shareholders and the company itself.
Given the pedigree of CD Projekt Red, with the release of the critically acclaimed and award winner The Witcher video games, one can only hope that they can survive this disastrous launch and make Cyberpunk 2077 an enjoyable title.
