How to know if you are subjected to constructive dismissal?

You might have resigned from your job because you thought you wouldn’t be able to cope with the new set of policies or maybe because of a drastic pay cut, which your company justified as part of business restructuring. They might point out a clause in your employment agreement, which stipulates that you could be laid off without a prior warning. Mostly, people give up fearing a David vs Goliath situation and thereby choose to suffer or probably even accept that it was their fault. They might be missing out on the fact that this could qualify as constructive dismissal, and if proven, could turn into a clear case of wrongful termination.

For instance, layoffs are likely if your company merges with another. Let’s say that you weren’t among those who were laid off. Supposedly, you happened to leave by yourself as you started to feel it wasn’t the right place for you anymore. It is upto you to recognize if you were indirectly terminated or not. To recognize whether it was a constructive dismissal, you need to acknowledge the logic in the reasons that made you leave all of a sudden. It might start with you thinking that what happened was unfair. Maybe the new management should have made you feel more comfortable by establishing a better relationship. Maybe they should’ve reviewed your case more instead of readily accepting your resignation. You must connect several dots with as many details as possible. Your findings could qualify this as wrongful termination via discrimination, probably on multiple counts.

The catch here is that employers claim it was the employee’s choice. The key is to be as vigilant as possible when you see a sudden policy change or realize why you have been chronically feeling uncomfortable at your workplace.

Constructive Dismissal can be defined as a situation where an employee quits or is forced to leave indirectly. They mostly do not recognize that it isn’t their own doing but situations fabricated by their employer. If you cannot stop thinking about what led to this mishap and make sense of it, you might want to consult a wrongful termination lawyer to professionally fact-check and uncurl your suspicions.

Things to carefully consider

  • As discussed earlier, you might not realize why you left your job in the first place. Staying proactive and thoroughly reviewing the whole situation might reveal possible malpractices by your employer. Think about it deeply and see if this would have been your first choice. If not, act.
  • If you think there is a possibility for litigation, you must clearly state and record the chain of events. This will demand as many details as possible. You have to remember and note down what happened when, where, and how. History shows the most unexpected little details play a role in overturning huge cases in court or during settlements.
  • As much as your employer would like to throw off any possible hurdle by establishing dominance using their size and employment agreement, the law might think differently. The same clause that led you to unemployment by resignation could become the cause for a considerable settlement value. It is advised not to overlook any document that is even remotely relevant to your case.
  • Wrongful termination lawyers specialize in finding possible discrepancies in your employer’s history that could benefit your case. If you could think of instances during the period of your employment that led you to leave, there is a good chance it could have happened to someone else. Finding proof of such cases might seem hard but could help you exponentially to win your case.

Conclusion

Likely, the law will not take you seriously if you can’t gather enough evidence and move strategically. Hiring a seasoned wrongful termination lawyer is your best bet to tackle this situation. Followed by legal action from your side, your previous employer will use their entire legal force to bury you with paperwork or go after your reputation. Only an experienced attorney, backed by a reputed law firm with good resources, will be able to help you sail through such events.

Comparison of Delta 9 THC Gummies vs. Delta 8 THC Gummies

The interest in delta-9 products is likely to continue. Everyone must do their research before even trying this legal THC variant. Whenever you attempt something new, make sure you are healthy and safe before attempting it. As consumers, we should be able to identify the ingredients, their effects, and what they are. How is the delta-8 different from the famous delta-9 in every way? We help you with the delta 8 and delta 9 debate. It’s time to dig deep and learn the differences between delta 8 THC and delta 9 THC.

Let’s start with what is THC?

If we start at the top, we may not see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s first learn about the Delta 9 THC gummies before we decide which vape to choose. Only then can we get to the root cause or, in this case, to the source. Both delta 8 and delta 9 cannabinoids are found in Cannabis Sativa plants. Delta-8, which is more commonly known as THC or tetrahydrocannabinol in the industry than delta-9, is also a THC, but it has different pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. THC is well-known for its psychoactive properties and is often compared with CBD or cannabidiol.

Extracting

Delta 9 THC, a prominent cannabinoid found in high quantities in cannabis, is known as a cannabinoid. As a result, extraction is often relatively easy and inexpensive. It is usually derived from marijuana plants.

However, extracting Delta 8 THC takes a lot more effort. Because Delta 8 THC is a minor compound, it’s not easy to extract. It is not possible to extract Delta 8 from cannabis.

There is another way to make Delta 8. The discovery that CBD can make Delta 8 was made possible by using solvents. Although creating Delta 8 products can be costly, it is much simpler. Most Delta 8 is made from hemp, not marijuana. It ensures that they contain less than 0.3% Delta9 THC, the minimum threshold for federal legalization.

The effects

Their effects are one of the main differences between Delta 8 HHC and Delta 9 THC. It is the decisive factor in deciding which one to take for most people.

Delta 9 is significantly more potent than Delta 8. It is believed to be twice as potent overall. Delta 9 has more side effects than others. Side effects of Delta 9 are more severe than others. They include paranoid delusions and impaired motor skills.

Delta 8 provides a more pleasant experience. Many users report feeling calm and clear. Many users reported feeling a specific “high,” but it wasn’t enough to affect their ability to concentrate or form coherent thoughts. You feel less stressed and more relaxed.

Delta 8 and Delta 9 are also different in the time it takes for users to feel the effects. Delta 8 is slower and more gradual, allowing users to relax into a more peaceful state. Delta 9’s onset, however, is quicker and more instantaneous.

Products

They are very similar in terms of their products. You can smoke them as flowers, inhale through vaping, or eat them in their edible form. You can also find a variety of topicals and capsules and tinctures, edibles, and other products.

Legality

It probably does not surprise you that marijuana is illegal on a federal level in the United States. It is mainly up to individual states to push for legalization. It has been legalized in 34 states for recreational or medical use.

As a result, the legal status of Delta 9 THC was directly affected. Federal law does not allow for any amounts exceeding 0.3%. The state laws are the only ones that will make it legal.

Delta 8 is technically still legal at the federal level. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp cultivation due to its ambiguity. The bill does not prohibit the extraction of Delta 8 from hemp or the creation of products with this compound.

However, due to the psychoactive nature of Delta 8, there have been several state bans. There are currently 15 states that ban the sale or use of Delta 8 products. Six additional states have legal proceedings pending.

While Delta 8 is currently more common than Delta 9, it remains to be seen how long this trend will last.

Available

Congratulations if you live in a place where you can legally buy and consume Delta 9 THC. You can get the Delta 9 THC you need at your local dispensary. You won’t find many online options, such as prohibited shipping across state lines.

It is not possible to obtain Delta 8. Despite being legal on the federal level, Delta 8 cannot be imported across state lines. It is available from several online stores. For obvious reasons, however, most reputable companies will not ship to Delta 8-infected states.

You can also buy Delta 8 from physical stores. You might need to exercise caution here.

You probably won’t want it to be bought at a gas station or other unsavory shops. The FDA does not regulate delta 8 supplements. As a result, there are a lot of low-quality products that could be contaminated with unwanted impurities.

You should only buy Delta 8 from a trusted and recognizable brand. You should not buy from them if they do not have a website that provides information about their production process and lab results on demand. Has more information and offers to purchase.

Last Thoughts

Choosing Delta 8 THC or Delta 9 THC is possible, depending on your preferences and needs. Although they have some similarities, there are enough differences to make them stand out.

Although Delta 9 is the most popular choice in the cannabis community, Delta 8 is quickly rising in popularity because of its milder effects and its legal availability. It could become the preferred THC form for most users.

You should also consider sleeping to improve your energy and health. It is possible to improve your sleep in many ways. Studies show that better sleep results in better concentration, energy, and less inflammation. Good sleep will allow you to get the best out of these products and help you achieve long-term success in your health journey.

The apparent difference between the New Cannabinoid Delta-8 and Delta-9 is their potency

It’s much easier to identify which one is which when we know how they will affect our bodies. A study showed that the double-bonded delta8 THC is less potent than its delta 9 THC counterpart. They compared delta 8 and delta 9 THC effects by intravenous and oral administration. Delta 8 is half the potent as Delta 9, with a 50-66% difference. Delta 8 has euphoric and calming effects but is milder than delta 9.

Delta-9 THC vs. delta-8 THC: Which one is more affordable?

Some people prefer delta 8 over delta 9 in areas where recreational use of delta 9 products, such as delta 9 gummies or delta 9 tinctures, is allowed. Extracted delta-8 extract may be more difficult to extract than delta-9 extract. Although Delta-8 is in high demand, the supply of these products remains limited. Because of the radar authorities’ oversight, Delta-9 is quite expensive. It’s still less expensive than the average delta-8 product. Not all companies are skilled at manufacturing these products. Wild Orchard Hemp is one of the top online sellers of CBD and hemp products with quality and customer satisfaction. Place your order at wild orchard hemp and relax while enjoying your product.

How to prevent rooftop fall hazards?

Are you scared of flying an airplane? Do you think that a high number of people die from an airplane accident? Does it keep you on the ground? What would you say if we tell you that more than half of all falls occur at heights of less than three meters?

Or that the majority of these falls are from ladders and roofs? It does change the perspective when it comes to falls, right?

When it comes to falls from three meters or slightly under or above, the good news is that the majority of these falls are preventable.

All you have to do is to have the right protection system.

Do you know how you can prevent rooftop fall hazards? If not, keep on reading, because we have got you covered.

Roof Fall Protection

Working at heights isn’t something that comes easy for people.

First of all, it doesn’t feel natural to people to be on heights. Still, it’s something that should be done, and people are used to that. However, not everyone is used to thinking about roof hazards and roof protection.

Falls do happen, and unfortunately, they are often seen in the construction industry, due to lack of safety.

Safety measures are most important when it comes to not falling. Some of the fall reasons are related to safety equipment, while some are caused by tripping, and so on.

To keep these accidents to their minimum (or even better non-existing) people should think about roof fall hazards, and the best way to prevent them; one of the most effective ways to avoid roof hazards is to install a guardrail system on your rooftop, as they come with many beneficial features, like no damage to the roof, quick and easy installation, long warranty, and strong resistance to rust and deterioration that can be caused by external factors, such as rain and temperature changes.

Eliminate Injury Risk

Falls from heights can lead to serious injuries, big expenses, and sadly, even death.

Roofs, ladders, and even loading dock platforms are the most common places where people get hurt.

No matter where falls happen it’s always bad news. Luckily, you can do a lot to optimize roof safety, protect workers and your asset.

Educate people on how to behave when on the roof, to be careful when it comes to weather and to avoid climbing on rainy days, or to avoid climbing or any roofing job if they are alone.

Educate people not to underestimate the risks and to always follow standard safety regulations.

If there is space for it, provide employee training. You will be surprised to realize just how much people can learn through well-organized training.

Last but not least, always use the right equipment. Think about roof management and how you can prevent injury and mitigate risk.

Anything roof-related may sound expensive but bear in mind that no one or anything should put a price on human life.

Even if you’re a DIY person and you want to make a quick roof fix, make sure that you have someone next to you and that you know how to keep yourself safe.

How to protect confidential business information in 2022

Trade secrets and confidential business information are integral to business success across all industries as each tries to outdo its competition. As such, businesses need to understand the law about confidential business information and how to implement effective measures to protect this information.

1. Sign Non-Disclosure Agreements

Companies should have their employees, investors, service providers, contract workers, and third parties sign a non-disclosure agreement. This will prevent them from disclosing or distributing any confidential information they encounter while working or doing business with the company.

Employees can also sign a non-compete agreement when they start working for the company. A non-compete mitigates employee risk of competing with their employer after they stop working in the company. The agreement also prohibits employees from disclosing proprietary secrets or information to other parties after or during employment.

A non-compete agreement is necessary to keep your place in the market, and it may be signed by consultants, contractors, and employees.

2. Use Shredders and Confidential Waste Bins

Although digital data is gaining prominence by the day, some businesses still have to deal with tons of paperwork daily. If you have to get rid of sensitive documents, ensure they are shredded or thrown in a confidential waste bin. Nowadays, identity theft issues are on the rise; hence you should not risk having sensitive information getting into the wrong hands.

When you delete your files from the recycle bin, a copy remains on your hard drive and be accessed by a person with advanced tech skills. You can prevent this by digitally shredding your files or using a third-party application to overwrite your hard drive with unsystematic data.

3. Control Access to Information

Any information stored digitally should have controlled access through encryption, firewalls, and passwords. This is especially essential when the information is in smaller storage devices that can easily be misplaced. The passwords used to control access to confidential data should be changed often and secure.

Choose hard-to-guess passwords that entail a combination of lower and upper case letters and special characters.

4. Use Private Networks

There has been an increase in remote work setups, increasing cyber-attacks. When your employees work remotely, you have no internet network control. This is a dangerous situation for your information security since malicious people using the same network can access and monitor your online activity.

You can eradicate this risk by using VPNs to encrypt your connection and hide your identity from the shared network. If you can’t access a VPN, you can choose a password protected individual hotspot to reduce the possibility of hackers looking into your online activities.

5. Train Your Employees on Security Awareness

Your employees are the weakest link to safeguarding confidential information for your business. About 95% of cyber security attacks are due to human errors like employees accessing their email and social media accounts through their work computers. You can organize employees’ bi-yearly security awareness seminars to sensitize them on how to secure business information and identify a potential security risk or threat.

Binge Yellowjackets, “the best horror show of 2022”, on Showmax

Yellowjackets, named Best Horror at the 2022 Critics’ Choice Super Awards, is now available to binge on Showmax.

Melanie Lynsky (Don’t Look Up) won Best Actress: Drama at the 2022 Critics’ Choice and Best Actress: Horror at the 2022 Critics’ Choice Super Awards for her performance as the unassuming Shauna, a now-adult survivor of a plane crash that stranded her wildly talented high school girls’ soccer team deep in the Canadian wilderness in 1996.

As her former teammates, Oscar nominee Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers) and Emmy nominee Christina Ricci (The Matrix Resurrections) put in “their best performances in years,” according to The Guardian, which proclaimed Yellowjackets “the most fun TV show in forever.”

Among their uncannily spot-on younger counterparts, Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream, The Leftovers, For the People), who plays the teenage Taissa, was nominated for Best TV Performance at the 2022 Queerties.
The ensemble cast also includes multi-award-winner Tawny Cypress (The Blacklist: Redemption), Ella Purnell (Jinx in Arcane), and Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief).

Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, Yellowjackets has a 100% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes and became the second most-streamed series in Showtime’s history (topped only by Dexter: New Blood). Yellowjackets was also nominated for both Best Drama Series and Best New Series at the 2022 Writers Guild of America Awards.

Yellowjackets’ impressive directorial line-up includes the likes of Sundance winners Karyn Kusama (Girlfight) and Ariel Kleinman (Top of the Lake), SXSW winner Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and multi-award-winner Deepa Mehta (the Oscar-nominated Water).

“In both its flashbacks to the team’s desolate hell on earth and the almost bleaker present, Yellowjackets presents realities so taut with tension they seem likely to snap at any given moment,” Variety says, warning,“Don’t be fooled by its teen show trappings: Yellowjackets is a pitch black parable of human desperation that will creep its way under your skin given the chance.”

Yellowjackets has drawn comparisons to Lord of the Flies, Lost, Desperate Housewives and even Mean Girls, but creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson were most influenced by the ordeal endured by the survivors of the real-life 1972 Andes flight disaster (which also inspired the films Alive and The Donner Party).

That makes it surprisingly relatable right now, in the third year of a global pandemic. In an interview with The Guardian, speaking about the show’s success, Lynsky says, “I wonder if we’ve all just gone through this collective trauma and everyone’s feeling a bit shaken up and they don’t really know how to put the pieces back together. This plane crash and these people surviving – I feel like people are interested in that. I think people can relate to that kind of general feeling right now. But,” she adds, “I also just think it’s fun.”

As Cypress says, “You are in for a wild ride, so buckle up. It’s going to be crazy.”
One tip though – if you’re loving the mystery, stay off the web. The show’s renewal for a second season (yes, please!) has the internet buzzing again, and fan theories, post-mortems and spoilers are everywhere.

Our Engineers have worked tirelessly to test and develop solutions to various challenges encountered along the journey and we are excited about what lies ahead in this partnership with Vodafone Ghana.” Selorm added.

Over the coming months, the outcome of the pilot would be instrumental in the development of the next phase of the partnership to cover more complex technical configurations for nationwide roaming on either network. We would update the market in due course.

Ghana Comes Second In the 2021-2022 Huawei ICT Competition Regional Finals

At the just ended Huawei ICT Competition regional finals held in South Africa, the all-girls team from Ghana placed 2nd amongst the 6 teams that contested for the competition under the Innovation track.

The girls, Esther Aboagyewaa Abankwa, Martha Esinam Kekele Demanya and Gladys Obuobi who are final year students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology came second with their AI project topic, “WaterBits” – An Artificial Intelligence-Based Water Quality Predictor, which automatically classifies the quality of water and determines its safety for drinking.

Speaking on their project, “WaterBits”, the team lead, Gladys Obuobi mentioned that, statistics from the United Nations (UN) report indicate that about 1.5 million people living at rural communities die each year from contaminated water-driven diseases hence their Artificial Intelligence solution, designed to help address the issue.

The Dean for Quality Assurance and Planning Unit at KNUST, Professor Jerry John Kponyo, praised the girls for making it to the global finals and making their institution proud. He assured them of KNUSTs unflinching support in the quest to ensure that the team make Ghana proud at the Global finals. He further encouraged the team to believe in themselves and work harder towards the winning of the ultimate prize.

“Your innovation has the potential to impact a lot of lives in the rural communities and that should be your motivation,” he said. He commended Huawei for giving the ladies the opportunity to explore their potentials and prove themselves through the Huawei Seeds for the Future Women in Tech Initiative.

Mrs. Jenny Zhou, Director for Public and Government Affairs at Huawei Ghana also commended the ladies for being the only girls’ team to make it to the global finals. She encouraged them to put in more effort to make Ghana proud at the global finals.

“Coming this far means you are very capable and can do better if more effort is put into it. Personally, I am glad you are projecting Ghana as the only team with ladies competing at the global finals. I believe you have been well connected through this program and this will go a long way to shape your career path.” She said.

Prof. Lidia Arthur Brito, the UNESCO Regional Director for Southern Africa, commended Huawei for building the capacity and skills of young talents in the Sub region, by giving them the opportunity to be a part of the digital world.

“Technologies can indeed empower people, commodities, countries and continents but technologies can also discriminate and leave people out of this development. By raising the capacity and skills of young talents in different sphere, I say this is immensely appreciated.”

According to her, participation of women in ICT is very low, however, she is glad more women are being trained by Huawei in various technologies like AI. She congratulated the various academic institutions for supporting Huawei to make the ICT Competition inclusive to all.

Khaya African Language Translation and Speech Recognition AI Demonstrates Major Improvements

Khaya AI App Expands into Northern Ghana, Demonstrates Major Improvements in Performance by Learning from User Feedback, and Outperforms Google Translate in Yoruba Text Translation.

The following describes work done by the NLP Ghana and Algorine teams, both of which I am a part of, to democratize modern machine learning tool access for Ghanaian and other African Languages. It culminates in the release of version 1.0.4 of the Khaya AI app, pushing further the automatic speech recognition (ASR) and machine translation “state-of-the-art” for over 60 million people in West Africa.

What Is The Inspiration Behind The Name Khaya AI?

Nine months ago, version 1.0.3 of the Khaya AI App was released — providing the world with Twi and Yoruba Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) capabilities, as well as Ga, Ewe, Twi and Yoruba neural machine learning text translators. It included the crucial ability to gather feedback from the public to improve its quality over time.

Fig 3. Khaya AI Improves over time by learning from user feedback. The improvements described in this article were achieved over a period of 9 months, and usage of the translators by tens of thousands of people.

Over the past 9 months, the NLP Ghana and Algorine teams have been working diligently to improve the quality of these machine learning systems, and to address any concerns raised. We are happy to release today version 1.0.4 of the Khaya AI App, showcasing dramatic improvements in quality. You can already test the app on Web, Android or iOS by following the links in https://linktr.ee/nlpghana

We outline the various improvements achieved in this article, as summarized by the following list and subsequent sections. In summary, the systems are improving — a lot!

What Can The New Version of Khaya AI Do?

Highlights

1. Addition of Dagbani translation and speech recognition marks the beginning of expansion of the AI into Northern Ghana — Hausa, Frafra and Buli are in the release pipeline next, among others. We are committed to a fairness of linguistic coverage.

2. Our Yoruba text translator outperforms Google Translate. We are committed to providing world-class solutions across Africa

3. Across the board, improvements in text translation have been achieved— as measured by the BLEU metric, confirmed by human evaluators, and shown in Table 1.

4. Across the board, improvements in Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) has been achieved — as measured by the Word Error Rate (WER), confirmed by human evaluators, and shown in Table 2.

5. Collaboration with the Harvard African Language School on East African Languages — to date, including Swahili, Kikuyu and Kimeru — furthers our commitment to providing world-class solutions across Africa

Now let’s dive deeper into the enhancements being released and ongoing work.

Dagbani Introduced as Expansion in Northern Ghana Begins

If you go through the reviews gathered by the Khaya app on the Android store (where a majority of the current app user base exists) a notable theme is the absence of Northern Ghanaian languages in version 1.0.3 of the app. We invested a significant amount of effort in Northern language research over the past year and are proud to introduce Dagbani text translation and ASR in version 1.0.4. We worked closely with the Dagbani Wikimedia Group on data and evaluation of the Dagbani technologies. This is the tip of the proverbial iceberg for our planned Northern Ghanaian language coverage, with languages like Hausa, Gurune (Frafra) and Buli slated for text translator release shortly. Models for languages such as Dagaare, Mamprusi, Gonja and Kasem are also in early research phases.

Text Translator Improvements

Fig 4. Khaya AI can help speakers of different languages to communicate with each other by translating African languages — such as Twi, Ewe and Ga — into English and vice versa. Learning from user feedback, it improves over time.

We analyzed the feedback submitted by the user base — 10s of thousands of users across mobile (Android & iOS) and the web app. Human evaluators were needed to analyze this data since it was noisy, sometimes including entire messages of encouragement from users to us 🙃

Validated suggestions and corrections were fed back to the training data and the models were fine-tuned further on it. Training data was also augmented manually using other sources, using this feedback as a guide to uncover deficiencies in coverage. Additionally, training data was augmented with back translations using monolingual data, which is a well-known technique in the machine translation community to improve the fluency of models. As a result, significant improvements in the BLEU metric were achieved for most languages — See Table 1 (Ga improvements are ongoing, which is why it has been omitted from this table).

yauDQsz0ExRfuk ChH81QhbNVl8WJbVxnTq5klIecTGkJ UCChAN yQSectNmRcS6BDn31n5MdSUWdZqzpntZ8RAN UdcodSPp2I7XViNoFsS3hQLmayboJLOCdD5IFNtJCHDCtO

Table 1. Measured improvements in text translator performance using the BLEU metric (higher is better). Improvements were confirmed using human evaluators. Yoruba text translators outperform Google Translate by 1.5 BLEU points for the Yoruba to English direction and 9.8 BLEU points for the English to Yoruba direction on our benchmarks. Dagbani showing ∞ improvement indicates a previously nonexistent model. Ga improvements are ongoing, and it has been left out from this table

What is notable from Table 1 is that our text translators outperform Google translate in both directions! Since Yoruba is the only overlap in coverage — neither Google Translate nor any other existing solution cover any of the Ghanaian languages we can handle, to the best of our knowledge — this comparison gives us confidence that we are building a world-class solution.

Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) Improvements

Fig 5. Khaya AI can help speakers of African languages to communicate with their phones and other devices, by transcribing African languages speech— such as Twi, Ewe, Yoruba and Ga — into text. This text can then be used by Alexa to control a smartphone, for instance, or further processed for a variety of applications

Due to the more sensitive nature of voice data, as well as the higher cost of collecting and storing it, we did not solicit ASR feedback in our deployment. We did however perform internal quality checks, discover drawbacks and keep augmenting the training data — tracking performance using the Word Error Rate (WER) metric, and confirming improvements using human evaluators. See Table 2 for the performance enhancements measured, which varied between 3.5% and 6%, and try the app today on your preferred platform to test the improvements for yourself!

Table 2. Measured improvements in Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) performance using the WER metric (lower is better). Improvements were confirmed using human evaluators. ∞ improvement indicates a previously nonexistent model.

What Comes Next?

1. API Release

We are building an API to empower African developers to build application solutions for their communities on top of the AI and ML systems we have created. Currently, API release is scheduled to open up for free trials within a couple weeks of this writing (scheduled for early May).

Want to build a smart home solution? A language learning app? Any technology you can imagine that relies on translating and transcribing local language speech? Access our models through the API and deploy your solutions in a matter of days 😊

2. More Languages

Improvements to the Ga text translation system are in the pipeline for release. Additions of — 1. Swahili, Hausa, Frafra (Gurune), Buli, Dagaare, Mamprusi, Shona text translators, 2. Swahili and Hausa ASR —  are on the road map this year.

Addition of the Kenyan languages Kikuyu and Kimeru — joint work with Prof. John Mugane of the Harvard African Language school — is in progress. Our ambition is to scale out across the African continent, with languages such as Amharic and Wolof also scheduled. As long as there is a need for our solutions, we will continue building them.

In fact the translators and models for a lot of these cases have already been built, the real difficulty has been scaling them out in production, at an affordable rate for a bootstrapping unfunded outfit like ourselves. Which brings us to the next section.

3. Language Scaling

When we started out, our models were “one-to-one” — meaning a separate model was trained for Twi to English, English to Twi, English to Ga, etc. As you can imagine, this approach is difficult to scale in production, as general purpose translators and speech recognition systems are relatively large and computationally expensive.

We have since moved to a “many-to-one” and “one-to-many” approach requiring one model for translating any local language to English and one model for translating English to any local language. This has eased a lot of the initial challenges we had scaling out the app to more languages, so we expect a more rapid expansion timeline from now on. Additionally, we are working towards a “many-to-many’’ model, requiring a single model for everything — which also will be able to handle translations between any pair of local languages — such as Ga to Ewe, Twi or Yoruba, and vice versa.

African healthtech company mPharma partners with TytoCare to introduce comprehensive telehealth to pharmacies

TytoCare, the global health care industry’s first all-in-one modular device and examination solution for AI-powered, on-demand, remote medical exams, is announcing today its partnership with mPharma, a technology-driven healthcare company building Africa’s largest health management organization with a focus on making medications affordable and accessible to every African.

The integration of the TytoCare solution into mPharma’s telehealth offerings enables pharmacies to provide patients with enhanced remote care through in-depth, physical examinations. Since the rollout of the partnership in June 2021, over 8,000 people have been examined and treated by mPharma using TytoCare’s platform, spanning 35 pharmacies across Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and Nigeria.

In Africa, community pharmacies play a central role in a patients’ primary care journey. Through the partnership with TytoCare, mPharma is reimagining the community pharmacy as more than just a place where patients fill prescriptions, but instead a virtual doctor’s office where they can conduct remote appointments with doctors and specialists they normally wouldn’t be able to access.

TytoCare brings this vision one step further by enabling remote physical exams of the heart, skin, ears, throat, abdomen, and lungs, and measurement of heart rate and body temperature, allowing the doctors and specialists to gain the vital clinical data they require to monitor, diagnose, and treat patients remotely.

mPharma is using TytoCare’s TytoPro system, a turnkey telehealth solution that enables providers to transform remote locations such as pharmacies, schools, nursing homes, home care facilities, clinics, employee work sites, and urgent care facilities into connected care sites.

“As a continent with a deficit of 2.4 million nurses and doctors, digital health solutions remain key in solving Africa’s primary healthcare challenges,” said Gregory Rockson, CEO and Co-Founder of Pharma.

“Our partnership with TytoCare helps us bridge the gap in the primary healthcare space in Africa. We have seamlessly implemented our virtual doctor consultation program, mutti doctor, recording over 8,000 consultations across our partner mutti pharmacies since we launched last year. mPharma’s vision is to make affordable healthcare accessible to every African, with our primary care strategy focused on ensuring that community pharmacies become primary healthcare providers. Our TytoCare partnership allows us to leverage modern technology to offer life-saving care to hard-to-reach areas and people who need it most.”

By using TytoCare, mPharma’s mutti pharmacy network has been able to reduce costs, improve community members’ access to doctors and specialists, and save patients the long wait times that are common in hospitals and clinics. On average patients can wait two to three hours to see a doctor at public hospitals and one hour in private hospitals.

A recent mPharma survey revealed that over 90% of patients who visit the company’s mutti doctor locations have a virtual consultation with a doctor within 10 minutes. In the coming months mPharma plans to expand its mutti doctor locations, powered by TytoCare, across Africa.

“We’ve already seen great success in our partnership with mPharma, offering patients a robust, accessible, and affordable primary care experience through local pharmacies,” said Dedi Gilad, CEO and Co-Founder of TytoCare. “mPharma is reshaping healthcare in Africa and we’re proud to be their partner on this journey, enabling them to up the level of remote care they’re providing with comprehensive physical examinations during virtual visits. We look forward to our continued joint success and seeing more TytoPro systems in pharmacies across Africa.”

Is It Possible to Obtain Legacy Skins In LOL?

There are various manners by which you can enliven your psyche. One remarkable way is through messing around. As is commonly said, work without play makes Jack a dull kid. The gaming business is expansive as there are various games. One interesting game drawing in numerous gamers overall is League of Legends (LOL).

This is certainly not a clear game as it requires the right information to appreciate. You can partake in the game with your companion as it is a multiplayer game. The game is made up of numerous characters known as legacy skins. Here are legacy skins in League of Legends that you should know.

1. Corki

A well-known legacy skin in League of Legends is known as Corki. This legacy skin is in love with two things more than anything else. This includes his marvellous mustache and flying.

However, it is not guaranteed to be in a specific order. After leaving Bandle City, he got a comfortable Piltover and fell head over heels for the wondrous machines he tracked down there. He devoted himself to the advancement of flying contraptions, driving an elevated guard power of prepared veterans known as the Screaming Yipsnakes. Quiet, enduring an onslaught, Corki watches the skies around his home and has never experienced an issue that a decent rocket blast couldn’t settle.

It has numerous abilities that distinguish it from the rest. The Yordle physiology is explained in detail. Corki is found in the Yordle classification, a being from the Spirit Realm and has a few capacities normal for his species.

One outstanding ability of Yordle is their immortality. Being profound creatures, Yordles don’t progress in years like typical people, and they can’t ordinarily kick the bucket. They can as well perform magic, Yordle magic. Like any Yordle, Corki is fit for performing yordle wizardry, which he uses coupled with his abilities as a pilot.

Legacy skins have numerous relationships with each other. Corki is a close associate with Tristana, Lulu, and Teemo. Graves caught Teemo for the abundance of yordles while Twisted Fate declined because “screwing with Yordles brings an entire difficult situation.” He then battled Corki, Lulu, and Tristana, who arrived to save Teemo, which wound up in Graves being transformed into a frog and the Yordles getting away.

2. Alistar

This type of legacy is well-explained by Harlan Hogan. Alistar is an elective type of Alistair, the Anglicized type of Scottish Gaelic Alasdair, eventually from Ancient Greek Ἀλέξανδρος, signifying “Safeguard”: from PIE roots *h₂lek-“to avert, to protect” and *h₂nḗr “man.”

During the Alpha Test, he was essentially called ‘Minotaur’. Alistar was considered overwhelmed/unpalatable in the Ultra Rapid Fire game mode (accessible in April 2014) and was at last handicapped in non-custom games.

Continuously a powerful hero with a fearsome standing, Alistar looks for vengeance for the passing of his group on account of the Noxian domain. However, he was subjugated and constrained into the existence of a fighter; his rugged will kept him from genuinely turning into a monster. Presently, liberated from the chains of his previous bosses, he battles for the sake of the discouraged and the distraught, his fury as much a weapon as his hooves, horns, and clenched hands.

Alistar has numerous qualities that distinguish him from the rest of the legacy skins. Its first feature is a triumphant roar. Alistar acquires a heap of Triumph for each adversary Champion he stuns, staggers, or Airborne uproots with Headbutt, Pulverize or Trample, and each time a foe Minion crony or non-epic Monster beast passes on adjacent.

Alistar thunders immediately if a close-by adversary champion or incredible beast passes on. When Triumph stacks are consumed, Alistar can’t thunder again for a brief term yet can, in any case, acquire stacks.

3. Singed

This legacy skin is also known as Singed, the mad chemist. Signed is a Zaunite chemist of unparalleled keenness who has given his life to pushing the limits of information with no cost, even his mental stability, too high to even think about paying. Is there a strategy to his frenzy? His blends seldom fizzle, yet it appears to numerous that Singed has lost all feeling of mankind, leaving a poisonous path of hopelessness and dread afterwards.

The mad chemist has unique abilities. The first one is the insanity potion. Signed drinks a strong brew of synthetic compounds, conceding him expanded battle details and making his toxin stream administer severe wounds. He has fling capacities too. Harms target foe unit and excursions them very high behind Singed. Assuming that Singed flings’ objective lands in his Mega Adhesive, they are additionally established.

Signed, the mad chemist tosses a vial of umber cement on the ground, easing back and establishing foes who stroll on it. Abandons a path of toxin Singed, managing harm to adversaries trapped in the way. He has noxious slipstream. Signed drafts off adjacent bosses, acquiring an explosion of move speed while moving beside them.

4. Sivir

A future with Binance Series – Why Binance P2P expanded its risk management roadmap to protect users

Peer-to-Peer trading, also known as P2P, has always been the cornerstone of the cryptocurrency landscape. Much like the barter system that predated fiat currencies, P2P transactions allow traders to directly exchange crypto with one another without involving a third party or intermediary.

P2P trading has grown in popularity and adoption as a result of some of its features for both casual and professional users, such as the ability to chat with one’s trading counterparty before completing a transaction, or the potentiality of traders personalizing their offerings based on their preferred price, payment methods, and local currency. It also offers benefits such as – zero trading fees and flexible payment methods.

However, while P2P trading is quite convenient, trading with other users may be risky if no third party exists to organize the transaction on the users’ behalf. Essentially, to safeguard one’s funds, P2P trading should be conducted on safe and secure marketplaces such as Binance P2P to prevent instances of fraud or theft by unscrupulous actors.

With recent advances in P2P marketplaces, crypto exchanges like Binance consistently aim to accelerate the P2P experience by implementing and improving strategies to ensure the ease and security of trading on their platform. One of such strategies is the P2P escrow which guarantees both buyers and sellers are protected from falling victims to fraud or theft.

The escrow does this in two ways – it helps buyers open an appeal if the counterparty defaults in releasing the cryptocurrency after payment; while on the other hand, sellers are also protected by holding the crypto in a temporary deposit within the escrow service until after payment from the counterparty has been verified. The cryptocurrency is only returned to the seller if the payment is not verified within a specified timeframe.

In the first half of 2021, Binance took additional steps to double its efforts in ensuring a safe and optimal trading environment because of the rapid growth of its users. Initially, P2P trading on the Binance exchange was only limited to verified merchants, but to ensure inclusivity and make good its commitment to providing freedom in trading for all its users, Binance opened up the platform to all users, but with meticulous rules and guidelines to protect and prevent people from losing their funds.

Recently, the platform has also expanded and implemented newer features and rules to further boost user protection. Below are a few of the many standout measures Binance has undertaken to provide a safer environment for all:

  • P2P Trading Requirements: By adding new trading requirements, users will have to complete robust identity verification steps such as specifying the quantity of completed P2P orders, SMS authentication processes, and the number of unique trading counterparties. This way, fraudulent and unreliable offerings or advertisements can be mitigated.
  • Order-Matching Upgrade: According to the definition by Investopedia, Order-matching is a process where exchanges such as Binance pair one or more unsolicited buy orders to one or more sell orders to make trades.By improving the matching algorithm, the Binance team can ensure that its users can trade with trusted traders and verified merchants.
  • Risk Management Optimization: Optimizing its risk management algorithms has actively facilitated the monitoring of suspicious activities on the Binance P2P platform, thereby limiting the trading activities of potential bad actors.
  • User Education Initiatives: While cryptocurrency companies have to create a safe and secure environment for their customers, users also have a part to play in safeguarding their investments. Based on this, Binance has provided access to an extensive resource on P2P best practices hosted P2P webinars across the globe and equipped customers with security tips for trading on its platform. With access to this information, users can be guarded against potential theft and encouraged to trade cautiously.

While there is no risk-proof investment strategy, investors and P2P traders can trade more freely with the measures that Binance has put in place to ensure the safety of users in its marketplace. These measures remain a clear indication of the brand’s mission to protect its users’ funds and deliver quality service while propelling innovation and growth in the crypto space.
