TLC holds virtual dialogue on time Keeping- Call on citizens to be time conscious

Transformational Leadership Concepts, a behavioral and attitudinal change advocacy group on Sunday 27th March 2022, held its first Time Keeping dialogue for the year where the speakers have encouraged Ghanaians to have a change in perception and attitude about time and be time conscious.

The virtual dialogue which was organized to coincide with Ghana month was under theme ‘’Time as a national resource’’ and had the Chief of Adidome and Convener of the group, Togbe Kwasinyi Kakakloko Agyeman V as the chairman.

The event was hosted by Mrs Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, a communication for development advocate. The speakers for the dialogue were, Nana Kwasi Gyan Apenteng, a communications and culture consultant and Mrs. Comfort Ocran, a Motivational speaker and Author.

Expressing their views on the theme, speakers spoke about the concept of time from cultural and organizational perspectives. They shared how the disregard for time has cost the lives of several Ghanaians through road accidents and the severe implications of lateness on the productivity output of workers and by extension, to the economic growth of Ghana.

The speakers observed that, while other people in different parts of the world are making good use of their time, those of us in this part of the world are not utilizing this important resource well.

Nana Gyan Apenteng, admonishing especially public officials on their poor attitude towards time especially to public events, he identified the concept of Self-importance as the main driver of lack of punctuality of public officials. He said ‘’ Leaders should arrive early at events. Elsewhere, the important person is even the first person to arrive at the event first and therefore.’’ ‘’Our public officials must regard time as a very important national resources and respect it at all times.’’

On her part, Mrs Comfort Ocran quoting biblical passages and recent happenings around the world shared that, time means different things to different people at different locations. Explaining the differences between a time and a season, she said ‘’ for me, time talks about a hard stop and a season talks about the period’’ she further identified two perceptions of time as seen by cultures and encouraged participants to recognize the importance of both perceptions and prioritize things that must be done at a given moment or time.

The speakers therefore called on participants to sign a social compact to be time abiding, event organizers should endeavor to provide details about the event they are organizing to their speakers as well as speakers who for some peculiar reasons may not be at a particular program on time, should give some allowance to event organizers to proceed with the event without their presence.

The event was attended by traditional leaders, professors, professionals, and students.

The Time keeping initiative is being undertaken to help in creating a better Time Keeping culture in Ghana. It was launched to improve the chronic lateness and lack of respect for time and timekeeping in Ghana. The national timekeeping initiative is targeted at policy makers, media, legislators, event organisers, corporate leaders, politicians, teachers, professionals, the youth , civil society and behavioural change agents.

Swvl and Moove partner to rollout EV buses

Swvl, Inc. (“Swvl”), a global provider of transformative tech-enabled mass transit solutions, and Moove, the world’s first mobility fintech, today announced that they have entered into a partnership to scale Moove’s revenue-based vehicle financing model across the MENAP (Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan) region, as well as expand vehicle classes to include electric buses. The partnership follows Moove’s recent $105 million Series A2 round.

Starting with an initial rollout of 500 buses, with the goal to scale up substantially, the partnership will enable mobility entrepreneurs on Swvl’s platform to access a range of brand-new buses. The $1 trillion global mass transit industry presents a sizeable opportunity for mobility entrepreneurs to own their vehicles and strengthen their earning potential.

By paying a percentage of their weekly income, prospective drivers will have the ability to work towards owning their buses through Moove’s two product offerings: Drive-To-Own (DTO), which enables drivers to work towards ownership of their vehicles in 48 months, or Flexi-Rental, an entry-level weekly rental option for drivers who may not yet qualify for DTO.

Moove is committed to ensuring that at least 60% of the vehicles it finances are electric or hybrid. This commitment to tackling the climate crisis saw Moove being awarded the IFC’s 2021 Annual Corporate Award as one of the top 20 most impactful and transformational projects, applying an innovative and scalable solution towards a global problem.

Powered by cutting-edge technology, Swvl empowers underserved communities with transportation solutions that are reliable, convenient, safe and affordable. By leveraging Moove’s unique credit-scoring technology onto Swvl’s platform, both companies aim to add more drivers and vehicles to Swvl’s platform in order to enable more bus route creation and increase expected earnings for drivers.

Mostafa Kandil, Swvl Founder and CEO, said, “Moove’s unique approach to democratizing vehicle ownership by providing access to financing perfectly aligns with our mission at Swvl. Through this partnership, we are able to further our mission of empowering underserved communities with safe, efficient and cost-effective mobility solutions at scale.”

Ladi Delano, co-Founder and co-CEO of Moove, said, “Forming new partnerships with strategic partners has always been a key driver of growth for us, which is why we are thrilled to be Swvl’s preferred mega fleet partner in MENAP. Starting with Cairo, our seventh market, this is an exciting time for Moove as the MENAP region presents opportunities that remain untapped and, by virtue of this partnership, we have now expanded into urban transportation and the bus vehicle class. With 50% monthly growth since launch, the growth at Moove has been exponential and we are excited to expand our platform to serve more mobility entrepreneurs whilst leading the way in the electrification of mobility fleets in markets across the world.”

Youssef Salem, Swvl CFO, said, “Electrification is integral to Swvl’s mission of substantially reducing emissions via a combination of increasing ride sharing and vehicle efficiency. Today’s partnership with Moove, who shares our commitment to empower communities and care for our planet, enhances economic opportunities for thousands of captains while transitioning into lower emission fleets. This partnership serves as the latest example of executing on opportunities which enhance economics for our stakeholders, protect the environment and diversify and expand supply for our marketplace. We will continue to pursue further initiatives which are core to our sustainable mobility value proposition.”

Moove, launched in 2020 by serial entrepreneurs Ladi Delano and Jide Odunsi, is a mission-led company committed to providing mobility entrepreneurs access to affordable vehicle financing and ensuring that 50% of its customers are women. The company also aims to ensure that at least 60% of the vehicles it finances are electric or hybrid vehicles as part of its commitment to improving road safety and vehicle emissions on Africa’s roads.

How much space should you have between a Kitchen Island and Counter?

For better or worse, kitchen islands can be seen inside most kitchens nowadays. Their use determines how well your kitchen functions. If the space between the counter and the island is too small or too large, then, chances are, your kitchen will not perform at its best.

Kitchen islands have become the latest must-have thing in many homes. If you wish to integrate one into your existing kitchen design, you can probably see that it changes the whole appearance of the room. Most people think that it is just a table with a big island top, but, as the designers say, it transforms the kitchen into the home’s social hub. Our kitchen island has become the center of all our family.

To make an island work in a kitchen area, you need to consider the space that can be available. This is of utmost importance in creating an eye-pleasing and functional kitchen.

The design of the island relates entirely to the space in which it’s used. The design must be proportional to its space to accommodate possible walkways and appliance doors. It must also be proportioned to prevent the island from being out of proportion with its space.

In this article, you will know how much space between the island and counter is required. Choosing the right thickness of the counter is also crucial. You can read about it on the Caesarstone website by clicking the link below.

https://www.caesarstone.ca/blog/how-to-choose-the-right-quartz-countertop-thickness/

Let’s get started!

What factors should be considered when determining the distance between island and counter?

The distance between island and counter is usually less than the space between a counter and a wall. The height of the island will determine the space between the counter and the island. The general guidelines are:

An island that is less than 3 feet in height, should be within 3 inches of the wall. The island should be 3 feet in width.

An island that is 3 feet in height, should be within 3 inches of the counter. The island should be 3 feet wide.

What Is the Ideal Dimension for a Kitchen Island?

The best size for a kitchen island is determined by your cooking needs. If you’re not comfortable with the amount of prep work you can accomplish on a kitchen island, you might want to consider a different island.

A small island will make your kitchen appear more crowded than it may be. It may not be the best option for you. The size of a kitchen can vary. However, if you’re able to, you might want to get a larger kitchen. You want to have enough space to accommodate multiple cooks. It will also help you accommodate guests more comfortably.

Spacing Hints

Once you know the size of your kitchen, you can begin to figure out the ideal distance between the island and the counter. If you’re looking for a kitchen island, you might want to consider some of the following tips.

What is the ideal distance between island and counter?

With most island configurations being L-shaped, there is little space to place a bar or bar stools. While some of our favorite island layouts don’t have a bar at all, this is very dependent on the size of your kitchen and the number of people you cook for.

With a modern kitchen, a large space is essential for a long island. With a small space or a large number of people, you could have a bar in the space at the end of the island, though I don’t recommend this as it makes the space too cluttered and not very functional.

What’s important is that the island is still functional. It’s important to remember that people use the kitchen for different purposes – sometimes the family will be sitting in front of the TV, or playing board games, sometimes there will be a dining table to eat at, and sometimes the kitchen work area will be open and full of people sitting around and chatting.

What is the required space around a kitchen island?

The minimum clearance around the island is 1.5m, for practical reasons. The island should be placed in the middle of the room to ensure it is the focal point. This will create the impression of a large open-plan kitchen. The minimum of 1.5m is for a reason; if you have a smaller space, you may want to consider other kitchen solutions.

You’ll find that the island will only work if the space around it is a minimum 2.5m in width. If you don’t have this amount of space, your island will be a little too small and will feel out of place.

Is it possible to leave too much space between an island and a counter?

There are some situations where it’s not advisable to leave space at all. If your kitchen is very small, then there is no space to place an island in front of the counter.

It may be that you can’t get enough space, either because you’re working in a small space or there is a lack of clearance. ‘In these situations, it may be better to consider a peninsula. A peninsula is not an island, but it works well when space is limited.

What is the best kitchen island layout?

The ideal position for an island is in the middle of your kitchen so that you can get around it easily. The best layout is, of course, entirely dependent on how you plan to use it.

Sizing

So, how big should your kitchen be? It’s a common question, but there’s no clear-cut answer. It depends on a variety of factors. First, how large of a space do you have available? What kind of kitchen is it? Is it a retrofit? Is it a new build?

There’s a lot to consider. For instance, is your kitchen a galley or a traditional kitchen with a long center island? If it’s a galley, does it have a large island that extends into the room? Do you have a peninsula? What about a built-in?

And, what about your cabinets? Do they extend below the countertops or not? There are a ton of considerations. So, let’s get into some of the basics of kitchen sizing.

Safety

If you’ve got a small kitchen, you may have to prioritize the safety factor. You must check that the island won’t pose a safety risk. For instance, if you have a two-person kitchen, make sure that the island isn’t going to block access.

This could be your only entrance. And if you have multiple children, make sure the island doesn’t have sharp edges that they could fall on. These sharp edges could cause a serious injury.

Storage

It is important to remember that if you’re planning on a small kitchen, you’ll also have to consider storage. You must have plenty of space to store food and appliances. Additionally, you may want to consider a storage island. This is a small island that’s used as a storage area.

Should the height of a kitchen island be the same as the height of the counter?

It looks nice when the countertop is the same height as the island. However, it’s not always practical. For one, it might make it difficult for you to clean under the counter.

If you intend to have a dining area around the kitchen island, you must install at least 36 inches from the island to the countertop. This will give you enough space for a dining area table and for guests to sit around.

How Should a Kitchen Island Be Installed?

There are numerous ways to install a kitchen island. For one, you can have it set on top of the counter. If you choose this way, it can be done in a variety of ways. It can hover over the counter. Or, you can install it on the lower part of the counter. Still, this might be a little difficult for some people.

Bottom Line:

In this ultimate guide, you have read about how much space between counter and island is essential. Keep the space around the island at 2.5m minimum, and you’re off to a good start. It’s also important to remember that you’ll want to have enough space to store your food and appliances. When you’re planning your kitchen, you need to consider one of the most important things in the room: the kitchen island.

The kitchen island is a very popular kitchen choice because it adds functionality to a kitchen and a good deal of space. It can be installed in a variety of ways.

When you’re in the market for a kitchen island, it can be hard to know what to look for. There are several options you can consider. However, it’s important to look for the best fit for your needs.

Mariam Owusu-Poku: From Miss Malaika Ghana to a leading TV role in ENO

For Mariam Owusu-Poku, Miss Malaika Ghana 2018, moving from modeling to acting was inevitable. “I’ve always wanted to act, and acting and pageantry are not too far apart.”
Even though she’s featured in a few TV shows and movies, ENO, the just-launched Ghanaian Showmax Original drama series, is her biggest project so far.
Mariam plays Kendall, the last of Abena Baafi’s (Gloria Osei-Sarfo) three daughters and her mother’s favorite. “Kendall has always been fed a fairytale luxury lifestyle by her mother so she grew up wanting the finer things in life and that includes her taste in men. She wants it all and must get it all,” Mariam says.
Read more about Mariam’s role in ENO, transitioning from pageantry to acting, working with director Shirley Frimpong-Manso and more in the interview below.

How did you land the role of Kendall?

When the call came through, I was told someone recommended me. I should really find out who this person was so I can thank them. The audition process was different from what I was used to. I was told to submit a show reel, résumé and a write-up about myself. Some of them were new to me so I had to quickly work on them and present them in the most professional way possible.
I finally got a call back months later to come for an audition. Unfortunately, I missed my audition because I was unwell, and at that moment I knew I blew it. Fortunately, I got another call back and I am so grateful to Sparrow Studios for giving me the chance.

Were there instances where you saw yourself in your character’s experiences?

Character-wise no. Kendall is wild; she is extra and obnoxious. She lives on the edge, without thinking of the consequences or who she might hurt, which makes her very self-centered and selfish.
Funny enough, we are both mama’s favourites. I have a beautiful relationship with my mum, not like the one Kendall has with Abena, but we are both loved dearly by our mothers and we also love the soft life. No stress please.

You were Miss Malaika 2018. How has it been transitioning from modeling to acting?

Miss Malaika Ghana was a life changing experience that opened up so many amazing opportunities for me. I have always wanted to act, and acting and pageantry are not too far apart. A pageant is a reality show first and foremost so I was privileged to have had that experience because little did I know that being in front of the cameras constantly and expressing myself in public would come in handy.
I just apply the same confidence and preparation when it comes to my acting. I prepare for my character; I make sure I know my lines and understand my character, so once the cameras roll I just do my thing and give it my all.

Was it intimidating to feature in such a major production?

Intimidating is not the word I will use to describe how I felt. I was nervous but I was more excited to be a part of a production like ENO. Also the fact that I was going to witness and learn how things work with major productions was crazy.

How has it been working with Shirley Frimpong-Manso?

Shirley is fantastic. At least now I also know what the hype is about. From the very first meeting with her, I knew how to become a professional actor and how to stand out. That’s how much she feeds us nuggets of wisdom about film and this world of acting that we have chosen to be a part of.
If people fall in love with Kendall, which I know they will, I owe it to her. I just wanted to learn all that I could from her on set. I was willing to be directed and I’m so glad I availed myself so she could take the character in the direction that we are all going to be proud of at the end of the day.

How about working with Gloria Osei-Sarfo?

Gloria is an absolute sweetheart. She is very welcoming and a very good actress. It was really nice being on set with her. She made me feel very comfortable and there was never a full moment with her. We even came up with our own fun slangs, which were hilarious. And she made sure we were always ready for our scenes and bringing our A game. Trust Gloria to always look out for you.

What was your best moment filming ENO?

I thrive in a healthy working environment. And so for me, my best moment was definitely the people. I had so much fun on set. As tired as l was sometimes, I still woke up and would want to be on set because I knew I was going to have a good laugh and meet incredible people.
Everyone was really professional, which is one thing I love about this production. Also playing the character Kendall, she is such a piece of work.

Why do you think Ghanaians will resonate with ENO?

It’s the reality of many people. That “gold digger”, that mother who wants to milk the beauty of her children or that girl who comes from a poor home being pressured to date high up so things can turn around for the family or that rich family wanting the wealth to stay in the family.
The list is endless. These are stories we hear all the time from real people and so in some way, you will find your truth in a character. Even if it’s not your reality, you might know someone who is going through something similar.

ENO is the first-ever Showmax Original in Ghana, did you feel any kind of pressure to get it right?

I am really happy to be a part of history. You can’t mention the first ever Showmax Original in Ghana without mentioning ENO. And I am a part of this masterpiece. I’m just really grateful. I do feel a bit of pressure because it’s a big deal. I remember I got nervous with every countdown to premiere because ENO is the first of it’s kind and I want it to be as huge as it can be. I want viewers to enjoy the story and love the characters because I know how hard we’ve all worked to make this a phenomenal project.
Catch Mariam Owusu-Poku as Kendall Baafi on ENO on Showmax, with new episodes every Thursday.

How to choose the best cryptocurrency trading platform

The best cryptocurrency trading platform is one that allows you to buy, sell and trade all the most popular cryptos. The best platforms will make the process easy and quick, and will not charge you a penny for your transactions. When choosing a cryptocurrency exchange, remember to consider how much it will cost you to use their services. You don’t want to spend a fortune on a service you won’t use, so you’ll want to choose the one that offers the lowest fees.

Using a platform like Coinbase is a great idea. It allows you to swap crypto coins instantly and acts as a crypto exchange aggregator. By using its API, you can compare deals across exchanges and sort them by the best rates. The company, founded in 2020, supports over 300 different cryptocurrencies and has 24/7 customer support. If you’re new to crypto trading, consider the ease of use and low fees.

If you’re new to trading, the first thing you should do is decide how much time you want to invest in each crypto asset. You can choose from the most popular ones, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, or you can try trending crypto assets, such as Defi coins, which are currently considered the next big thing. Check the features and costs of each platform and decide which one best suits your needs. When choosing a platform, make sure it has customer support in the mail.

If you’re new to cryptocurrency trading, it’s always a good idea to check reviews of different platforms online. Users typically complain about issues with a platform and boast about their win rates. You’ll also want to check the legitimacy of the platform before signing up with it. It’s important to choose a reputable platform, and you won’t regret it. The best cryptocurrency trading platform will make the process easy and fast.

Regardless of your level of expertise, there’s a good chance you’ll have some problems when you first start trading with cryptocurrencies. The best cryptocurrency exchange will be one that offers user-friendly features and a variety of payment options. And with a little bit of research and trial and error, you’ll find that the right crypto trading platform will help you get started. If you don’t want to deal with scammers, try using a trusted cryptocurrency exchange that has many positive reviews.

The most important thing to remember when choosing a cryptocurrency exchange is that it’s a lot easier to understand than to use a platform that doesn’t have an intuitive interface. A good cryptocurrency exchange should offer a clear and simple deposit and withdrawal process, and provide tips to help users with their issues. 5 Best anti-detect browsers

Whether you want to browse the internet more anonymously, or you’re running a business based on multi-accounting, a good anti-detect browser can help. Though similar to popular browsers like Google Chrome, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox, anti-detect browsers hide your browser fingerprints.

As more and more people and businesses realize this, more options appear on the market. So, choosing one is not as easy as you may think. But don’t worry as if we’ve made a list of the five best anti-detect browsers to help you choose the ideal one.

Top 5 Anti-Detect Browsers for Fingerprint Spoofing

Anti-detect browsers are ideal if you’re looking for online anonymity, running multiple accounts on social media, running Google AdWords, or controlling merchant profiles on Amazon and other e-commerce platforms.

Here are the best options on the market, in no particular order:

1. AntBrowser

The simple interface of this browser makes it easy to use even for beginners. Working on the basis of Firefox, it allows you to open and run as many accounts as you need on a single computer.

You can easily switch profiles without worrying about any limitations as they all have unique IP addresses, user agents, language, time zone, and other parameters that form a visual real device.

AntBrowser saves cache, tabs, and cookies, thus making it easier for you when you return to your previous place of work. It supports proxies, cloning profiles, and synchronizing data on various devices.

2. Linken Sphere

Besides managing multiple accounts, this serious anti-detect browser can also be used for bypassing ad verification or fraud systems. Instead of hiding the parameters that services would require, it uses your inputs to create a fake browser persona. This way, it makes it look like you’re someone else to the services so they won’t be able to identify you.

Other useful features of Linken Sphere include a fake IP leak, data encryption, storing prints and cookies from every session, and built-in anti-detection.

3. Ghost Browser

This is one of the most popular anti-detect browsers for tech professionals such as social media managers, plugin developers, web developers, QA testers, and web designers. It’s a Chromium-based tool that offers a dedicated workspace and multi-session browsing identities.

Also, it allows you to choose from temporary or permanent identities so you can isolate and manage cookies more easily. On top of that, you can assign a different Ghost Browser proxy to each tab or browser profile to ensure better anonymity and flexibility.

4. Multilogin

Multilogin is one of the most stable and widely-used anti-detect browsers for managing multiple accounts. Known as the Indigo Browser for Russian users, it’s one of the few anti-detect browsers that don’t work by just disabling WebGL, Canvas, and other major parameters.

Instead, it tries to hide your browser fingerprint completely which makes it extremely reliable. Multilogin allows you to use Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and other browsers with different browser fingerprints. It also lets you change individual parameters or create unique browser profiles.

Depending on the plan, the browser allows up to ten users to control the accounts. It may be a bit expensive, but all these features make it worth it.

5. Aezakmi Browser

Powered by Chromium v81, the Aezakmi browser makes you invisible on the internet which can be very useful when it comes to social media marketing, multi-accounting, traffic arbitrage, betting forks, and contextual advertising.

What puts it in our top 5 anti-detect browsers is the ability to have several fingerprints in one browser window. This way, each fingerprint represents a unique session, so in the eyes of websites, each session is another user in another location using another device. This makes Aezakmi ideal for anyone managing multiple social media accounts.

Creating multiple unique sessions on the Aezakmi browser requires proxies, but you can learn more about it on this website.

Conclusion

A solid anti-detect browser has become an invaluable tool for those running multiple social media accounts from a single device and anyone looking for anonymity on the internet. They can be shared by a group of individuals providing a chance for teamwork, which makes them popular in advertising agencies and corporate companies.

Although relatively expensive, good anti-detect browsers like the ones mentioned here can help you access banned sites and keep your data private which makes them totally worth it.

How Binance is committing to gender equality in Africa and beyond

Technology has predominantly been a male-dominated sector; the lack of equal representation has made certain tech spaces become a breeding ground for gender biases and discrimination and the cryptocurrency industry is not left out.

Although crypto was made to promote freedom from repression, there is an evident gender gap. Of the 378 venture-backed crypto and blockchain companies founded globally between 2012 and 2018, only one had an all-female founding team, and only 31 (8.2%) had a combination of male and female founders.

Outside of leadership, women are grossly under-represented in the workforce, with 95% of people in the blockchain industry being men, according to the Global Crypto User Index. Project Syndicate also posits that the overall female labour-force participation rate in sub-Saharan Africa has reached 61%, yet women constitute only 30% of professionals in the tech industry.

The world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, Binance, understands the importance of gender inclusivity in the blockchain world and has continued to create opportunities and initiatives tailored to meet these demands.

For International Women’s Month, Binance Africa rolled out an 8-week Bootcamp to equip women with the necessary tools and skills for a career in blockchain. The participants in this training session will work on hands-on projects and build important critical thinking skills with real-world problems and solutions.

Furthermore, Binance Charity, the philanthropic arm of Binance, launched the MamaToTheRescue project to strengthen the Kenyan economy and empower women with new and sustainable technical skills. Binance Charity sourced and donated sewing machines, creating job opportunities for local women.

Beyond its women-empowerment initiatives, Binance has also fostered a company culture that is not afraid to innovate and break the status quo. The company is one of the few tech companies with a sizeable number of women holding senior positions across many of its departments including, He Yi, Co-founder, and Chief Marketing Officer of Binance; Helen Hai, Head of Binance Charity and Binance NFT; Damilola Odufuwa, Head of Product Communications; Carine Dikambi, Francophone Africa Lead; Laura Li, Country Manager for Africa and Zane Wong, Director of KYC Compliance.

The Francophone Africa Lead, Carine Dikambi, believes blockchain technology is a transformative technology that improves lives and delivers financial freedom and inclusion for millions.

On the power of crypto and women’s rights, Damilola Odufuwa, Head of Product Communications, says, “I’ve always been passionate about financial inclusion for women. I was sold as soon as I realized the impact crypto and blockchain technology could have on women’s rights. I was determined to use my experience in media and communications to aid the conversation on how tech & crypto can work hand-in-hand with tech & women’s rights to democratize the microphone that has traditionally been reserved to those in power. Of course, I was also drawn to the industry’s influence, use cases, transparency, and rapidly evolving nature.”

For Binance, the goal is to build a more inclusive ecosystem, while continuously innovating and creating freedom of money for people all over the world. The exchange platform urges all other centralized exchanges to work towards building a more balanced ecosystem to break the bias and create freedom of repression for all.

Businesses must be intentional in providing great digital customer experiences – Experts

As businesses continue to experience a transition towards an all-digital world, with most consumer interactions being executed digitally, organizations must employ intentional approaches to be able to offer a great digital customer experience, financial and digital experts have said.

They suggested that consumers are progressively shifting their emphasis away from products and services and toward the quality of the experience they receive. Meeting these new criteria will require firms to demonstrate unflinching commitment.

They said this during a webinar organized by CWG Ghana and DigiD, themed ‘Digital Customer Experience: A profitable Journey’, where the industry leaders discussed how to engage the digital customer.

Group Chief Information Officer (CIO), at I &M Bank-Kenya, Rohit Gupta stated, as businesses digitize their operations, in keeping with the times, they must also carry their employees along. He said, as businesses adopt technology, the staff must be technologically enabled for the skill sets needed for interacting with digital customers.

Elaborating on the change in customer behavior and how businesses must adapt, Ramesh Kannan, founder of Digid, a digital onboarding, and identity verification system, said the financial services industry and other businesses must concentrate their effort on improving services through digitization.

“In the previous 5-7 years, the internet purchasing experience has reached a mature stage. Online customers are now able to enjoy an immersive shopping experience that was previously only available in-person. Customers wanting to get financial services and products should also be provided with a comparable experience. They should be able to purchase their services from any location, at any time, and using any device “he said

” A handful of the manual / semi-manual work processes that financial services companies are now using are unsustainable and needs immediate attention,” he said, bringing attention to the existing onboarding process in financial services firms.

For Chief Information Officer (CIO) at First National Bank Ghana, Samuel Dakurah, as technology advances, it presents opportunities, which several industries can leverage for growth, explore advancement and improve on customer experiences

“Major advancements in customer service have been driven largely by advancements in technology.  A key driver has been the growth and accessibility of the internet which has opened up many opportunities for both organizations and customers. Communication is now timely and efficient. Also, advancement in areas such as cloud technology has helped address challenges such as scalability, availability, and uptime or platforms. Many solutions now have a “software as a service” offering that organizations can quickly leverage to serve their customers. The growth in fields such as machine learning and AI have also provided new avenues for engaging with customers such as intelligent chatbots.,” he said.

Mr. Dakurah advised that, in the quest to satisfy the needs of the digital customer, businesses especially banks, must also ensure that they keep an eye on cyber security threats. Both customers and organizations are vulnerable now, more than ever to cyber security risks. This can potentially destroy the customer’s trust if not properly addressed.

Comfort Armoo, Head of Customer Experience at Fidelity Bank Ghana, said that all services must be relevant to the needs of the customers. She said that when it comes to digital services, , systems must be built client-centric.

“In general, every world-class service must be Reliable & Responsive, Empathetic, have a great Ambience, and provide Assurance. That being said, in order for us to proclaim a positive customer experience, service providers must make every effort to make all digital journeys and processes smooth and seamless, timely, emotionally rewarding, and successful. When all four of these critical imperatives are present, one had definitely engineered a powerful anacea for growth and customer loyalty, while improving organizations own efficiency”, She said

For his part, a digitalization expert at OSPBA NOVAT, Bismark Owusu-Prempeh said insurances companies, whose services he described as ‘sensitive’, must foster transformative and customer-centric cultures if they are to meet the demands of the new normal.

“Technology should be used to increase the value of services delivered to customers. For me, understanding ‘who your digital customers are’ and ‘how you affect their perception, and brand loyalty is critical,” he said.

“There are basically 3 fundamental ingredients to a good digital customer experience: (SEE)

  1. Success – Whether the customer receive his/her preferred service/product. Did the customer complete their task and achieve their goal?
  2. Effort – The amount of effort the customer had to put in to receive a service or product. Was the process smooth and easy?
  3. Emotion – The kind of impression/perception the customer is forming about your brand. did they come away from the interaction feeling good?

In all of these, understanding your customer needs is the first step in redefining your business digital offerings. For example, what are the customer needs in the insurance industry? Can the customer enroll or buy an insurance product, update his/her personal information, know his/her contributions, future benefits, etc. without visiting the brick-and-mortar office? Can I get these with less efforts?” he added.

When should you invest in SEO?

SEO includes all activities aimed at optimizing a website in such a way that it is more visible to search engine crawlers. But will an investment in SEO bring tangible benefits to your business? How to recognize when such a service is needed and how much should it cost? Read this text and find out when is the best time to invest in positioning and what should be included in this type of activity.

When you want your clients to find you

Ads screaming “Buy me!” have stopped working for consumers a long way back. The phenomenon known as banner blindness has become common, which means that we have learned to ignore intrusive sales messages.

So, how to reach potential customers in such circumstances? Make them find your company themselves – exactly when they need it. This is what makes website positioning possible.

The key to success here is meticulous keyword analysis achieved by using professional Rank Higher Agency SEO services. You should focus primarily on those entered by users for whom the offer of your brand is relevant at the moment and solves their problems or satisfies the need.

When you want to gain advantage over your competitors

Any way to stay ahead of the competition is good. However, positioning may be the most profitable – the results in the first positions in Google get as much as 32% of clicks! So there is definitely something to strive for.

Even if your competitors have been fighting for a high position on Google for a long time, you shouldn’t be discouraged. You can still find a space to showcase your offer. In such a situation, it is worth starting positioning with long tail phrases, which are less popular, but create a greater chance of conversion.

When you strive for long-term results

You have to wait for the effects of positioning. You won’t notice them on the first day after posting an article or following a redirect. However, once they do appear, which usually takes several weeks or sometimes months, they can persist for many years with appropriate optimization.

This is very valuable information, especially if you want to switch from SEO to paid advertising. After all, you can see the effects of Google Ads immediately. However, you need to be aware that they only last when you invest in search advertising. On the other hand, once the results in SEO are achieved, it is easy to maintain for a very long time, which makes positioning one of the cheapest and long-term methods of acquiring customers.

When you want to sell more (obviously)

It’s simple – more traffic means more sales opportunities. SEO is a key mechanism for increasing sales, especially in the e-commerce industry, all online services and local businesses. We emphasize once again that positioning for skilfully selected phrases will attract users who are really interested in your offer, and not random “passers-by”.

However, remember that positioning itself is not everything. Your website must be prepared to accept more users – an efficient server infrastructure and a design compliant with the principles of User Experience is the basis.

Radiflow partners with MMX to secure critical OT telecommunication infrastructure

MMX Communications Services, a trusted integrator for the oil and gas sector and part of the TXO Group, announced a partnership with Radiflow, a leading Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity provider, to secure critical infrastructure for their customers. This will ensure the continued reliability of communications networks between off-shore systems and on-shore operations.

This will address the growing fear of cybersecurity attacks, at times driven by state-sponsored actors, against the oil and gas industry.

Recent global events have put the energy sector on high alert as their markets become increasingly volatile. Global energy reliance has also seen these industries become the target of highly sophisticated cyber-attacks, which threaten to shut down entire infrastructure networks.

While recent cyber-attacks have seen major disruptions to IT networks, such an attack in the petroleum industry can be catastrophic, as their off-shore operators may be stranded, completely shut off from on-shore operations.

OT networks, including especially those used for critical oil and gas production, need to be continuously monitored. “Unlike traditional IT networks that can be cataloged and protected on a systematic basis, gas and oil OT networks are often made up of layered technologies that are integrated with legacy systems,” said Ilan Barda, CEO of Radiflow.

“This leaves unknown vulnerabilities exposed to hackers while forcing teams to manage the reality that the cybersecurity perimeter is not always clearly defined.”

With modern offshore networks transmitting masses of data across multiple types of networks, operating them is highly complex. It’s important to remember that each technology needs its own defense against cybersecurity threats. This must be done while ensuring all systems are active 24/7.

One way that Radiflow supports OT networks is by helping them to catalog their full system, then create a virtual representation in a digitally mirrored network. From there, Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and cybersecurity teams can safely recreate globally known attacks, then practice best responses. They can also mitigate against future attacks and create best practices, should something happen down the road.

“We’re really excited to be partnering up with the Radiflow team,” said Matt Jameson, MMX Sales Manager. “Having strong OT cybersecurity solutions within our portfolio is an essential extension to our support for the oil and gas market. We know the risks are only going to get greater, so we can’t stress enough how important it is to ensure your critical infrastructure doesn’t compromise on security.”

About Radiflow

Radiflow is an OT Cyber Security company that has unique tools to protect and manage digital assets for the long term. They work directly with Managed Security Service Providers to oversee the discovery and management of all relevant data security points. Their unique pinpoint approach brings the businesses’ team into the fold, trading the industry’s one-size-fits-all approach for a calculated, focused, and secured system without inhibiting communication or productivity. With offices in Europe and the US, Radiflow’s solution is installed in over 6000 sites around the globe.
